Warm-up and deliverability best practices
Short answer: Good cold email deliverability comes from authenticated DNS (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), a gradual warm-up ramp, low daily volume per mailbox (about 30 to 50), random delays, plain-text personal emails without tracking, verified lists and fast handling of bounces and unsubscribes.
Steps
- Authenticate the domain. Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC and confirm they pass.
- Ramp up slowly. Keep warm-up on: start around 5 emails a day and add 2 a day.
- Cap volume per mailbox. Use daily and hourly limits and random delays; add more mailboxes instead of pushing one.
- Write like a person. Short plain-text emails, real personalisation, spintax for variety, no tracking by default.
- Keep lists clean. Verify emails, honour unsubscribes, watch bounce rates; Pink Post auto-pauses risky accounts.
Numbers to keep in mind
- Bounce rate under 3 percent. Pink Post auto-pauses an account with a high bounce rate over the last 30 days.
- Reply rate is your best health signal. Open rates are unreliable because of mail privacy features.
- Do not send from your main company domain when you are starting out.
Content checks
Use the spam-word check in the template editor. Avoid link-heavy first emails, attachments and image-only messages.
